I have found, in my short stay here on Earth, that there are very few guarantees in life. I know it is silly, but it seems as though I need to say what I have found to be true in order to keep things in perspective. True friends are hard to come by and one of the most invaluable aspects of one's life. We are all going to die, of course. True love, once realized, will never die....no matter what....no matter what. Fire will always burn you. Laughter is the best medicine. Music is high speech and can speak to anyone anywhere. Just when you think it can't get any worse, think again and watch what happens, it often times will. And lastly,

You will find no sleep here. Here is where the air is still and swealtering, your sweat will only intensify this affect and give you inverted relief. The ground is hard and the seats even harder but both are teaming with life you do not want to touch. The nervous girls flick the scum from their fingernails and tear out their hair wich wasn't theirs to begin with, and your "friends" tear out your heart and flick it in the same place they threw your rights and dignity. It's not everyday that one gets a new lease on life, but due to the recent tragedy in my home town of New Orleans, I have been given one. I am better off now than I was on my best days in New Orleans. I evacuated one day before the storm with a sack of clothes, my laptop and my guitar. I thought that I would be gone a week at the most, but as everyone knows, I realized that I could never go back. Luckilly most of my things were unharmed and I was able to get most of it out after a month. Having very little for a while and thinking that's all you will have for a long time makes you realize how very little one really needs. Everyone I care for
